Experiential Study Adventure

Introduction

The Western Side of the USA is home to some of North America’s most treasured destinations.  We invite you on a truly experiential study trip to the Great West of the U.S.: The Colorado Plateau, Northern Arizona, and the Grand Canyon Region.

The Western U.S. is where this country’s national park system and deep Native history are both still alive and well.  The West has its own deep history and a very special flavor.

Students will find many learning opportunities woven into an active and experiential itinerary. They'll discover a deep geographical history, a magnificent geology with rivers, mountains, high plateaus, lush valleys, ancient pueblos and a very distinct culture.  The West is a great classroom.

We have for you a study trip that is rich in learning, leadership, beauty, history, activity, and exploration.

Experiential Learning

OVERVIEW:  Flagstaff, AZ is located at the base of the San Francisco Peaks at 7000 feet elevation.  This is Arizona's Altiplano: The Colorado Plateau, the second highest large plateau on the planet.  This is a land of colors and cultures.  The Colorado Plateau is home to the greatest concentration of National Parks and Monuments in the world.  Flagstaff is a Gateway City to Grand Canyon and our explorations of the canyon are close by. Towering above Flagstaff are the San Francisco Peaks, 12,600 feet in height and where we will explore.  Nearby are the reservation lands of the indigenous Hualapai, Havasupai, Ute, Hopi, and Dine peoples with whom we will interact.
